Is this rally still on? On 14th? Then please update the first post on this thread which still says July 7th - it is confusing.
Also, considering that there are only 4 more days to the rally if it is on 14th, we need considerably more publicity in the media and on blogs on this.
This rally will be a watershed event because as far as I know, this would be the first of its kind by skilled, legal immigrants and it should get the media attention that it deserves.

I am sitting here in front of my laptop for 10 minutes, still I don't know what to say.
I am really sorry to hear your condition. I am not sure of any clause for a situation like this or may be there is.
I am neither a God to show you a way nor your friend to be next to you and help you hold your spirit high. All I got is a heart to show and give you an unconditional love and support.
I still cannot breathe after reading this. I juste prayed to God for you. Don't loose your hope. I am sure you are trying or tried all types of cures. I have deep faith in Pranayam/Yoga. I am not sure if you have heard about SWAMI RAMDEV JI. He teaches pranayam and here's link to his forum http://forums.curesearch.org/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=631 . Try to meet him if possible. People with soft LUD on I-140 on 7/13 are getting their I-485 approved from TSC. Nothing concrete but a trend. Hope for the best.

Here's what the law says:
8 CFR 204.5(e) relating to PD transfer between eb categories
(e) Retention of section 203(b) (1), (2), or (3) priority date. A petition approved on behalf of an alien under sections 203(b) (1), (2), or (3) of the Act accords the alien the priority date of the approved petition for any subsequently filed petition for any classification under sections 203(b) (1), (2), or (3) of the Act for which the alien may qualify. In the event that the alien is the beneficiary of multiple petitions under sections 203(b) (1), (2), or (3) of the Act, the alien shall be entitled to the earliest priority date. A petition revoked under sections 204(e) or 205 of the Act will not confer a priority date, nor will any priority date be established as a result of a denied petition. I'm sure you can put your point across without bandying about your expertise in the English language.
your juvenile logic about the USCIS deciding how important your work is can be extended to how much you get paid too. How about demanding that you be paid equal to CEO's of fortune 100's!
And finally you still want to live in the US
Exactly... there is no such thing as LOW HANGING BALLS.... they shuld be fair to everyone... this is just a case of discrimination... first make all these useless categoreis... My 140 was approved at TSC, sent 485 to Nebraska on June 22, they received on June 25. I called to check status yesterday, the lady said to wait. On asking if case will be transferred to TSC and if TSC will generate receipts, she said she doesn't know, but it may take at least 2-3 weeks to process receipts at Nebraska.
I just called national customer service center for my 485 receipts and the lady told that nebraska filers should still wait for 30 more days before they call for receipt updates...she said she was answering the same question since this morning and mentioned that it could still take atleast 30 days for nebraska center to register the applications...
when I asked her if she knew whether my case has been transferred to TSC already (since my 140 got approved from TSC), she said she wouldn't know that answer...her bottom line was to wait...
what a mess!!!!!
if any one has called the customer service today regarding the receipts, I would appreciate if you could please post the responses here.

I think we all understand we are in this together. No doubt.
A single post from CORE IV can make a huge difference to herd the cattle (including myself) here. For Instance, AILA letter asking for H1B and EB relief today.
I had posted a modified version of their letter in our forum in which I had deleted asking for raise in H1 and retained only EB part. IF IV core thinks
this is a good (or a bad ) idea and suggests what to do, our members will be energized.
For my part, I have added my personal story, added the EB relief part of AILA letter and emailed two senators and one congressman in my state.
Also, the same letters signed are ready in an envelope to be snail mailed.
So, IV core, from time to time, when there is a campaign by AILA and other organizations which could help us, please suggest how you would like us to proceed.I am not trying to create more work for you, but as a member, I think it would benefit all of us.

Your idea is good and I would encourage you to go ahead and send such letters to lawmakers. Any effort that is in line with IV's agenda and helps us in any way will be helpful to all of us. IV endorsed efforts are listed in action alerts page. If you choose to go and meet the lawmakers we have put together all information for this purpose

When the session starts I am sure based on where the issues are going and after consultation with QGA and within core team there maybe some action alerts that involves contacting lawmakers.

By Self employment, do you mean working on 1099 or by starting a business and working for it?
Per my lawyer,
1. USCIS does not mandate that you must inform when you invoke AC21. You can inform them if and when you get RFE.
2. I strongly believe that we should not accept job offers that is not related to the job you originally applied for. My lawyer says it is usually vague and if USCIS determines other wise I will be in trouble. And for the same reason I am hesitant to accept very good employee offer from my current client.
3. Self employment is ok as long as the requirements are met and that is what is I am doing now.

In the SR, was there any timeframe such as wait for 30/60/90 days?
I sent an email to my congressman immigration staffer on Monday, about my spouse's case ( EB2 I, Dec 2005). Got a snail mail yesterday that they did not get a response and are still waitng for a response. Today, i called their office and they said they got a response and the case is assigned to on officer and wait till September 10th. My wife had spoken to 2 tier support on Auguts 5th who said your case is assigned to an officer and you are pre adjucated. We also got a response to our SR created on August 5th, which says case under review. I guess the wait goes on.

I never had a soft LUD on my 485 because of EAD renewal.... But one time I saw it, but my lawyers filed AC21 around the same time.... So I would think it was because of AC21.... So I was always under the impression that EAD renewal has no LUD's on 485, based on my experience

it's part of the human experience.
5. learn a new skill
something you've always wanted to do but did'nt get around to.
public speaking, dancing, singing...your choice.
take a class at a community college or a university.
6. go to temple or church or mosque.
make a deeper spiritual connection with God.
let him lift some of your burden.
i listened to Hari Om Sharan after many years and experienced a real sense of joy.
7. spend time learning about US government.
get to know more about how government works. why does house vote differently than the senate ?
get to know the 100 senators and 435 house reps. especially how they stand on legal immigration.
our friends on the other side of the fence have done us a favor by organizing this information
