The EB-2 category for Indian nationals has retrogressed four years and will be set at January 1, 2000 for applications received beginning June 1st. If you are from China, the backlog is five years less - February 15, 2005. And if you are from any other country in the world, there is no wait at all. I am really appalled that Congress allows such an unjust distribution methodology to remain the law. No country is permitted to claim more than 7% of the numbers in a green card category. That means tiny countries like Andorra and Botswana get the same...

I think we should protest in front of capitol with placards reading "End Discrimination by National Origin". "USCIS practices Racism", "End Racism in Legal Immigration" "Remove country Caps", "Country Caps = Racism", "Choose Merit, Not Race". We should set up a tent and do a huger strike.

Got EAD renewal card production order email today for me and my wife.
Applied on July 7th, 2008 (TSC)
Approved August 26th, 2008
Don't know if its for two years or one year.
I am current with 2004 EB-2 I priority date.

My 140 was pending in TSC since early feb. It got approved on Aug 3rd. My 485 app was receipted on the same date from TSC. So, app was transferred from NSC-> TSC (filed in NSC on June 25th).
So, folks, hold on - you will get receipted soon.

There is no FIFO in current system. There NEVER WILL BE as long as so-called Chargeability areas ( country quotas) exist. Mark my words, we may at best get the quota extended to 10% (if STRIVE or something similar passes), but the quotas are here to stay. Guy from a so-called ROW country will always get his GC ahead of you.
Have you read about 'Alternate Charegeability'? Read about it in Mathew Oh's website. It means a guy/gal from India can marry a Sri Lankan or Pakistani and use his/her country as chargeability! A person is getting ahead of others by marrying outside your country! What's your brilliant idea to stop that. I can already see some guys posting 'IV should make banning marriage outside the chargeability their Top #1 agenda, as people use it to cut the line'

Infopass on 10th Aug - was told case is pre adjudicated
Opened SR on the 11th of August for primary . ....Have not yet got any reply for that.

i was not able to attend the IV rally..emergency reasons..but still its fair for me to suffer..
its highly unlikely we can see a reform. I agree with logiclife's post..we deserve what we are getting into..
of the 800K applications u saw applying for AOS..even if 10K had come to DC rally it'd made a huge diff..
we all do line up for GCs like herds but dont have the guts to attend..
i know of so many ppl who say "all this rally is ridiculous".. and i dont pity them those who wait for 10 years..becoz u deserve to suffer and will continually suffer..

Like poste din another thread, I called USCIS customer service today to speak about EAD application that has been pending for 60+ days. The Phone rep told that he cannot give me any information about any cases right now since their "system is down". I asked for clarificationand he said that cases are still being processed but the system used to view status is down. Not sure what that means.
Not sure if this will cause any more delays .............. I need EAD renewed by Sept since my current one expires then
Also anybody has any ideas on what "Plan B" might be if renewal is further delayed by sept?

I-485 reached NSC on July3rd. Still waiting ... Adding my name to the list here. I called USCIS after 90 days are passed, I got the answer that they do not see any thing in the system about my filings. Attorney said that she will use liaison to follow-up. Basically I got the same answer as lutherPraveen I guess. I am not sure how successful they will be by using liaisons. How can somebody in USCIS dig into the big pile of paper applications to find yours?
