Getting really worried now! What happened to our packages? I asked my lawyer and he said all the applications filed together with mine have received receipts except mine? Is that normal? Did you guys ask your lawyer? Did the applications filed together with yours all get receipts?

I have a unique position. couple of weeks back I was told that have fatal cancer and won't live pass 4-6 months. After recovering from initial shock I am wondering if my wife will be able to continue her american dream or she will have to head home after me.
I have filed 485 with approved 140 back in june, 2007 with PD of March, 2003
Please help.

When the cases gets shuffled around the country from NSC to CSC and back, the dtabases are separate. FP notices are generated when information on different databases are alligned together.

Try to lift one single crab from a vessel full of crabs, other crabs will try their best to pull that one back. Same mentality is at play here - if I don't get it nobody else should get it. Don't you guys feel shamed to act so self-centered and selfish like crabs?

Do you know why crabs have this instinct? It is a group instinct that through natural selection propagated due to the fact that various predators would slowly pick away at clusters of crabs.
This group instinct (resisting the removal of an individual member) resulted in slightly fewer crabs becoming shark/octopus/otter/etc. meals amongst the groups that exhibited this behavior. These "grab back" groups were slightly more successful than those that "let 'em go" and consequently this particular trait (over many millennia) became well established in the larger gene pool.

From all the options we have at hand immediately, I suggest the following to be the quickest and most effective
Chant the mantra "Man Yo Ho Rehna Kyo"
This should be done as many times as possible for 2 weeks
Avoid chanting from 12:00-3:00
Keep in mind the person who you think is the obstacle on your path while chanting
It worked for someone I know. It worked for me. And now to make it work for all of us we all have to chant. Remember, just 2 weeks!

This thread is very interesting. Ppl are coming up with various hypothesis to get their own GC fast. Come on folks, the GC system was good when it was devised in 1990. It is just that the system never kept up with the changing times. The inflows to the GC system kept changing (more H1's, L1's....) but the outflow (visa numbers) are still fixed, and hence there is too much overflow and choking in the system. Isn't it time for us to unite and stand as a single voice and work towards removing the bottleneck (visa numbers).
It is easy to say on forum how USCIS should work, but in reality can it work. For example Just try to convince U'r colleague (sitting in u'r adjacent cubicle) or even U'r boss how to perform his/her work. Then see how the response is. If we (IV members) aren't aligning on basic issue and solution, how much credibility would we be having to go and ask USCIS how they should run their office.
Come on folks, be realistic. We all know a legislative fix is the only way to solve the current front-log so why can't we organize at various levels (county, state, national) and work towards such a legislative fix. The key to that is to get active in U'r state chapters and do grass-root level work towards a legislative fix.
If the system is streamlined the out of order processing worst case might be in weeks (can we not tolerate that) compared to yrs now...
INSTEAD OF SAYING IV SHOULD DO THIS OR THIS etc.... WHY DOESN'T ANYONE SAY THAT I/WE WILL DO THIS SO THAT IV CAN ACCOMPLISH say TASK x

I also think green card lottery, chain immigration, and refugee green cards should be eliminated and those visa numbers should be used for employment based immigrants because all these people can immigrate just like us through employment. We contribute more to the American society and should be given priority. I guess when we become American someday, we would like immigrants who contribute to our community too. Isn't that right? :)
