My case was transferred to local office of Los Angeles, CA. I received a note saying on Dec 7th it was transferred to expedite the processing and they (LA office) will let me know when decision is made.
Current processing date for I-485 is August 19th. Does that mean that when they reach Dec 7th they will process my case regardless of my PD(which is June 05)?

I noticed that California has around 20 names. I know that around 35 to 40 ppl are flying from CA. I think that is would be a similar case with other states.

What is this fight all about ??? eb3-->eb2 ... or spillover??? changing any/both of them will not solve underlying problem.. Grow up people
why not go for real problem??? if you want to ask congress/administration, ask for some real solutions which will help everyone. To name a few...
1. Capture lost Visa numbers
2. Get rid of country quota.. how does this country based quota makes sense in EB Category??
Totally agree with this. Eventhough i dont agree with i_got_skillz language, what he has been trying to say is the same thing. This spill over stuff will only help EB3 ROW as they have huge backlog. This EB3I talk abt spill over stuff will not only help them but will also bring EB2I in to the same boat(infact Eb2I is also in bad shape with or without spill over).

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the time.
When I look back at the timelines, when we applied for the 485s, we thought he was in status but afterwards, we realized he might not have been. Since then, we have renewed the H4 twice, and each time there was an I94 attached and the last one is still valid, so he is in status now.
My concern is (1) that when the time comes to adjudicate his 485, someone might look back and say err, ten years ago there was a problem... I hope it won't happen, but I just want to be safe and my understanding is that returning with a stamped H4 would cure this and (2) that if we decide to go for the stamping, whether someone in the embassy would dig up the records and cause us problems.

ivuser very good ideas. I was waiting for others to respond to your post whole day to help with the tasks but nobody responded to even join you in a conference call. Did you notice any LUD's on your case in September?..i got an RFE for my Spouse in August and responded on September 2nd after that there is Soft LUD almost every day but no status change..on my case no LUD's or what so ever last LUD was on 08/19 the day when i did my FP that's it..Guys i am frustated and feeling some how that i will miss this bus... called USCIS IO told me that both the cases are with officer not sure how reliable inof that is..Opened SR on September 3rd..guys please suggest me what else i can do:confused::confused::mad::mad::mad:

While in the process of filing for labor certification my company has found 2 suitable citizens who are eligible for the job.
Now what are my options going forward and how does this affect my chances of a successful PERM filing ??
I'm filing in EB3 category right now. Also I need to file for labor before oct since my H1 will expire its original 6 year length next Oct (Oct 2010).
I think your company have to let you go and hire the avaiable US citizen.
You shall have to find another job.
This is always the risk when PERM is filed.
When mine was filed, I kept my fingures crossed. My manager used to call and interview applicants every day. I was lucky that not many people with required skill sets applied.

My business travels took me, once again, to Las Vegas. Armed with a polarizer and more time on this trip, I was determined to do a better job of photographing the views in Red Rock Canyon than I did the last time. Was able to shoot in the canyon area at both sunrise and sunset. I'm much happier with the results this time. Here are three of my favorites from the effort. Several more in my gallery. For the lay person to understand the economic consequences of skilled immigration, one can ask what would happen if they took a million highly skilled American workers out of the economy. That would clearly be bad.
How would the removal of a million skilled non-Americans be different? The economy as a whole would take a major hit in both cases.

I am also planning on changing location from one state to another but the job is still with the same company (just moving to a different branch). My lawyer said it will not affect my GC but I have to get a new LCA for my H1. I still do not understand how this will not affect my GC (I have a approved 140 and waiting to file 485). Is there a way this is possible like if the labor is filed from the corporate office and has nothing do with branch locations?
I just want to make sure it is safe before I move.
