Just want to highlight a positive point. June visa bulletin shows that NONE of the visas (or very negligible) are going to be wasted this fiscal year for India. Shows increased USCIS efficiency. Hopefully it will be true for World and China as well.

Firstly let me say that the Dems taking the house is the only hope I see for change near term. If the Republicans take it then they will feel vindicated on their stand and stick to it especially in view of the current unpopularity of Pres. Bush.
Democrats normally sing the tune of organised labour on such issues. Organised labour is clear that they want the immigrants that come not to be exploited. In otherwords, if you let them come then treat them well as they are now part of the labour pool. This idea has some intrinsic merit. If you analyse things, it is usually during the long drawn out protracted green card process that unscrupulous employers take the most advantage.

I pledged 100 $ today for Aman's expenses because I felt really bad abt that. I donated around 300$ till date including 20$ recurring contribution.
I filed my 485 long time ago. But when people who are really seeing the fruits of IV (July VB reversal) are higly reluctant to donate even a few bucks, while they are spending thousand's of dollars for their 485 stuff, I am kinda confused.
Are people really that selfish not to donate a few bucks(may be 5$per month) to an organization which is making them file 485 and reversed all this fiasco.

It was amazing to see such response to call for funds for Aman and other core members.

Section 202 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) states that the per-country limit for preference immigrants is set at 7% of the total annual employment-based preference limits. This system is designed to systematically discriminate people from India and China by preventing them from attaining employment visas. My case was received by NSC on JUN 1st. They issued the recipt numbers on JUN 5th. I am still waiting on my wifes. They could clear on Monday.. Looks like NSC is also trying to speed up things. They are just one day slower than TSC in issuing recepts.

In this thread there are lot of folks who changed employers using AC21 after 180 days I-485 is pending.
Did they ever travel to thier home country using AP after switching employers from the orginal GC sponsoring employer?
Where they being harassed at Port of Entry by Immigration Officers why siwtched employers and travel on AP?

Per my lawyer,
1. USCIS does not mandate that you must inform when you invoke AC21. You can inform them if and when you get RFE.
2. I strongly believe that we should not accept job offers that is not related to the job you originally applied for. My lawyer says it is usually vague and if USCIS determines other wise I will be in trouble. And for the same reason I am hesitant to accept very good employee offer from my current client.
3. Self employment is ok as long as the requirements are met and that is what is I am doing now.

Are you sure about that...never heard of I140 portability. If it were true...why would there be such a big ho ha about AC-21.

When you move, your new company will have to start the GC process from the begining - Labor, I-140. It is just that when they file your new I-140, you will have to provide a copy of your old one and request to keep the old priority date.
I think there are some requirements to get this right - one of them being your job classification should be the same. There is a thread on this subject somewhere on this forum, you can dig it out and ask questions there.
